The Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following nominees for two available three-year volunteer positions on the ACFCU Board of Directors.
Steve Halkyard (incumbent)
Mr. Halkyard joined the Supervisory Committee in 2003 and served for eight years before joining the Board of Directors in 2011. Since joining the Board, Mr. Halkyard has been a member of the Nominating Committee, the Asset Liability Management Committee, and has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Halkyard retired from Arlington County Government after 34 years of service and is currently a senior inspector with the Virginia Department of Transportation. He has lived in Northern Virginia for over 50 years and is married with one adult daughter. As a long time credit union member and employee of Arlington County Government, Mr. Halkyard is passionate about continuing to provide financial education and new financial services to meet the needs of our growing community.
Lynne Porfiri
Ms. Porfiri is the Chief of Staff for the County Manager’s office. An attorney, she has been with Arlington County Government since 2008, starting in the Real Estate Bureau of the Department of Environmental Services where she worked on the acquisition and disposition of a variety of County real estate interests. Most notably she was part of the team that acquired the building which houses the County’s new homeless services center. Ms. Porfiri also served as Acting Assistant Director in the Department of Environmental Services. Before joining County government, Ms. Porfiri managed a title insurance agency in Arlington. Earlier in her career, she was a partner in two law firms in Richmond, VA, and specialized in transactional work at both. She holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Richmond. Ms. Porfiri lives in the south Arlington neighborhood of Arlington Ridge.
Additional nominations may be made by petition, which much contain the signatures of one percent of the ACFCU membership as of October 31, 2023. Petitions and complete application packets must be submitted to the Nominating committee by March 17, 2024.
